Until now, Winestyr has been an online wine business that helps customers discover and purchase the best small-production wines America has to offer. We recently opened our first brick & mortar location, Winestyr Chicago, located in Chicago's West Loop at 648 West Randolph Street.
Winestyr Chicago is basically a showroom for Winestyr's product offerings but we make the in-person experience fun, cool, and educational. We use this space to show off the amazing wineries we work with and our best-in-class wine club offerings. If you're familiar with Bonobos, Trunk Club, or Warby Parker, then you will likely understand the concept. The Winestyr Chicago experience is similar to paying a visit to one of their guideshops to figure out the types of clothes or glasses that you'd like to purchase, only we're promoting really interesting wines that you won't find on store shelves in Chicago or other parts of the country.
Since we're not a wine bar or a restaurant, people often have questions about what goes on at Winestyr Chicago. So, without further ado, here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions we've received.
What is Winestyr?
Winestyr is a wine business. We work with a growing portfolio of 100+ of the best small-production wineries in America and make their wines available for purchase to you on our website, through our best-in-class wine clubs, and via private wine consultations at Winestyr Chicago. We firmly believe that we've created the best one stop shop for unique American wines in the $20-$50 price range.
What is Winestyr Chicago?
Winestyr Chicago is our flagship office. We decided to turn the front of our West Loop space into a swanky bar and lounge where we host private, professionally-catered appointments on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (and select weekends). These private appointments serve as an opportunity for us to show and tell what makes the Winestyr service so great and for you to select a wine clubthat best suits your needs. Is Winestyr Chicago a wine bar or a restaurant?
Winestyr Chicago is neither a wine bar nor a restaurant. Winestyr Chicago is a private, by appointment only showroom. This is not your neighborhood bar where you camp out for hours and drink, and we do not serve full meals. However, you will have the opportunity to try a selection of unique, small-production wines and we also provide hors d'oeuvres that pair well with the wines.
Do you take walk ins?
We do not take walk ins. Winestyr is by appointment only and appointments must be scheduled at least an hour in advance. Please email lounge@winestyr.com or request an appointment here.
What days/nights is Winestyr Chicago open?
Our general hours of operation are Wednesday-Friday from 4pm-9pm. We are also available for appointments on select weekends. You can email lounge@winestyr.com or fill out the form on this page to request an appointment.
How many people can I bring to Winestyr Chicago?
We recommend small groups of one to eight people. There will likely be a couple of other small groups in the lounge when you are here, but don't be surprised if you have the place to yourself.
How long does it take?
Wine consultations generally take ~90 minutes. We can accommodate your needs and provide a quicker experience, but since we have a small space, these appointments don't generally run much longer than 90 minutes. People often enjoy scheduling their wine experience before going to dinner in the West Loop.
Can I taste wines at Winestyr Chicago?
You will have the opportunity to try a selection of unique, small-production wines. These are wines that you won't find on store shelves in Chicago and they're produced by some of the best small wineries in California. If you enjoy these wines, you will love one of our wine clubs.
Is there food at Winestyr Chicago?
Small bites such as cheeses and breads are included in your private wine experience. Please do not expect a full meal.
Can I purchase wine at Winestyr Chicago?
You can purchase wines and we will ship them right to your door. You can also join our wine club. However, you can never walk out of Winestyr Chicago with bottles of wine.
How much does it cost to visit Winestyr Chicago?
Groups of one to eight people may receive wine consultations free of charge. If you enjoy the wines, we encourage you to join a wine club that suits your needs or purchase the wines that you enjoyed the most and we will ship them to your door. For larger groups, please reach out to lounge@winestyr.com and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
What is the price range of your wines?
Generally speaking, the wines we carry are $20-$50 per bottle. We have some wines that are a little less and some that are more expensive, but we're really focused on finding extremely high-quality wines in the $20-$50 price range.
How much do your wine clubs cost?
We have four wine club options ranging from $79 per shipment to $179 per shipment.
Wine club members have the option to select Monthly, Every Other Month, or Quarterly shipments and you can always skip a shipment, put your subscription on pause, or cancel if you'd like.
Are there other member benefits for wine club members?
Yes. We negotiate preferred pricing with our winery partners so the wines that you receive in your wine club shipments are often a much higher value than what you are paying for them. In addition to that, wine club members receive the following benefits:
