This wine, sourced primarily from the cool climate Sangiacomo Amaral Ranch Vineyard just north of San Pablo Bay, is nice structure and balance to go along with layers of dark fruit, earthiness, and minerality. A great effort from winemakers Dan Fitzgerald and John Harley. Aged for 9 months in 30% new French oak.
Bench wines are sourced from benchland vineyards where the valley floor transitions to steep, rocky soils, ideal for producing wines with exceptional structure and character.
