This is a delectable Russian River Valley Pinot Noir from Chloe Creek. Loads of fruit, great acid, and nice complexity make this a superbly balanced and drinkable Pinot and a wonderful value. Aged for 11 months in 25% new French oak. 220 cases produced.
Chloe Creek is named for one of Kim and Bill Comiskey's most prized treasures: their cocker spaniel, Chloe. After making a small lot of wine in his cellar, Bill was in search of an idea for a label. One fall day at only 5 months old, Chloe was posed on a stone wall in their front yard with a creek in the background - and the rest is history.
Chloe Creek Vineyards is the result of Kimberley and Bill Comiskey's personal quest for the perfect Pinot Noir. Long-time wine enthusiasts, the couple repeatedly toured Sonoma County, meeting with farmers, sampling grapes, and searching for vintage bottles to add to their private collection. After years of what Kim describes as "studying, dreaming, and tasting," she and Bill realized that what they'd learned was simply too good to keep to themselves, so they decided to make some wine of their own. The result: Pinots with deep, rich flavors that reflect the unique essence of carefully selected vineyards along the Sonoma Coast and in the Russian River Valley.More from this winery
Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself.
