The fruit for our 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon came from three different Napa Valley vineyards, a beautiful hillside vineyard above Lake Hennessey, a lovely high density planted vineyard in Napa, and an iconic vineyard in Coombsville. The wine has a dark deep inky color with a highly aromatic bright nose featuring rich dark fruit, black cherry with a hint of vanilla. The palate is rich and dense with round and balanced soft tannins, long finish with black cherry.
With the 2005 purchase of their first estate vineyard, Coquerel Family Wine Estates began producing exceptional Napa Valley red and white wines under the guiding hand of winemaker Christine Barbe, who earned her Ph.D in 1996 from the Bordeaux Institute of Enology. The winery is located just beyond the town of Calistoga at the north end of the Napa Valley and the heart and soul of Coquerel Wines is their estate “Walnut Wash” vineyard, a gorgeous, oak-studded property that sits in the afternoon shadows of the Mayacamas Mountains. Pure, crisp whites and powerful, yet sophisticated, reds have become their hallmark; a true melding of Napa Valley intensity and French elegance.
