This is a restrained Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington state. This wine falls somewhere between what most people would consider "normal" for a Pinot and a bigger California-style Cabernet. Definitely a great gateway heavier red wine.
Desert Wind's beautiful winery is perched on a bluff overlooking the Yakima River. Their two estate vineyards lie at the foot of the Saddle Mountains in Eastern Washington's Columbia Valley region known for its fierce summer conditions. Desert Wind's wines are handcrafted using small lots of fruit and extended barrel aging to create unique flavors. These wines are some of best values we've come across.
Are our wines any good? Yeah, they are. But don't look for "expert" ratings here - the wines we feature have excellent scores, but we think it's more important to buy wines with an occasion in mind. Rest assured, we've tasted everything we put on our site, and it's all good. Need some more specific recommendations?
