Pinot Noir may be more famous in Sta. Rita Hills, but Rhône varieties like Syrah and Grenache have carved out their own niche. Dusty sought out this cool climate for his Grenache, loving how it preserved the grape's top layer of tart fruit and mouth watering character. The wine spent four months in a mix of stainless steel and neutral barrel, as to avoid the heavy handed oak treatment many California Grenache wines see. Then, to finish things off, the final blend saw seven months in concrete before bottling. 93 pts Jeb Dunnuck
Dusty Nabor Wines was born out of passion and, perhaps more aptly, the drive of Dusty himself to make site specific wines showcasing California terroir. What started out as a home winemaking experiment soon blossomed into a commercial operation and Dusty now sees his wine span three different brands and the length of California's Central Coast.
