Producer Graef Wine

Varietal Rosé

Vintage 2012

Winestyr Review

This dry Rosé from 2012 is produced with 100% Syrah from a single vineyard in Lake County and it is drinking beautifully right now. Lower in alcohol and more similar to French style Rosé, this wine has loads of complexity and flavor for such a lean wine. I tasted this wine for the first time with Andy Graef himself on the patio at El Molino Central (awesome Mexican food in Sonoma). It was a scorching hot day and we were eating chips and guacamole - this wine was a lifesaver. One of the best Rosés I've tasted this year. 580 cases produced.

Graef Wine

Founded in 2011, Graef Wines is a micro-production winery that is part of the new guard of winemakers focusing on making food-friendly wines with as little winemaker intervention as possible. A true garagiste, winemaker Andy Graef (a former ad man), began making wine for himself in his garage. He honed is craft gleaning important insights from winemaking veterans. The resulting wines are pure expressions of the fruit and the locations whence they came and and refreshingly true to varietal. Already appearing on some of the country's best wine lists and earning praise from important critics and somms alike, we're proud to bring you this portfolio of micro-production wines.
