Tasting this side by side with the Barsotti Vineyard bottling shows off the classic character of Alder Springs Vineyard: everything from Barsotti turned up three or four notches. More densely concentrated and layered black fruits, dried savory herbs, and roasted chiles. Ripe tannins lend this to possible long term aging but it's just so good now, would be hard to wait. Aged for 10 months in once used French oak. 100% Cabernet Franc. 50 cases produced.
After biding his time at California’s iconic Paso Robles winery, Tablas Creek, the Elwell’s took the domestic wine scene by storm, producing wines from one grape and one grape only: Cabernet Franc.
