Situated just inland from the Monterey Bay, Arroyo Seco is yet another emerging Central Coast AVA and the home of Cedar Lane Vineyard. Single vineyard Viognier isn't common, which is what first stuck out about this wine. On the palate, you'll quickly notice a beautiful bouquet of white and yellow flowers and the wine's full body. That texture makes this suitable for pairings like roasted chicken, stinky cheese, or grilled vegetable kabobs.
Named one of Wine & Spirits Magazine's "40 Under 40 Tastemakers" and the San Francisco Chronicle's 2018 Winemaker of the Year, Ian Brand is one of the premier names in California winemaking today. Brand's commitment to organic farming and progressive style calls back to his time at Bonny Doon as the assistant winemaker to Randall Grahm and is the core of everything he does. Le P'tit Paysan is a project dedicated to finding vineyard sites on the fringe and bringing their personality from vine to bottle. Working primarily with vineyards in Monterey and San Benito counties, Brand has the chance to champion both regions and their unique terroir, a confluence of Pacific wind and most of California's otherwise rare limestone escarpments.
