This is an absolutely delicious, balanced, and complex Chardonnay that will challenge virtually all of your preconceived notions of what a California Chardonnay might entail. Lemon curd, brioche, and bright minerality will take your mind straight to Burgundy, but the laser-like intensity and fullness of fruit will make you think "new world." This is a very, very impressive micro-production wine from winemaker Anthony Yount who continues to garner serious critical acclaim with his Kinero Cellars project. 100 cases produced.
St. Louis native Anthony Yount, proprietor and winemaker at Kinero Cellars, got his start in winemaking by way of an internship during his undergraduate studies at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. He became enamored with red and white Grenache and now serves as the winemaker for Denner Vineyards while also making small quantities of exceptional white wines under his own Kinero Cellars label. The wines are pure, fresh, and expressive and have earned him wide critical acclaim including landing on Jon Bonné's list of top 100 wines of the year.
