This is a fantastically enjoyable Zinfandel from Mill Creek in the sense that it has the robust flavor and presence of a Zinfandel, but is not overly fruity, tannic, or peppery. It has a healthy amount of acidity that leaves one's mouth watering after each sip, and the entire combination of these characteristics help make a second glass every bit as enjoyable as the first.
Conceived in 1965 when the Kreck family first planted grapes, Mill Creek Vineyards & Winery was not actually born until nine years later with the first production of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. These expertly crafted wines are produced from grapes grown on the winery estate, the family home in Alexander Valley, and a few select neighboring vineyards. Several members of the Kreck family currently work on the Mill Creek property and their goal remains the same as always - grow excellent fruit. That, combined with Jeremy Kreck's basic philosophy to let the fruit shine, has resulted in standout wines that you will not forget.
