Not your average Sauvignon Blanc. High toned citrus and spring flowers fill the glass along with a salty, mineral quality. Tart and thirst quenching on the palate with sour green apple and more of that saline freshness coming through on the finish. This comes from a single vineyard with 70-year-old vines that have never before been irrigated.
Diego and Shaunt have one of the most unique winery setups in the country, if not the world. Tucked into the hills above Orinda, which is just a few minutes outside of Oakland, this duo crafts their flagship natural wines in the raised basement of Shaunt’s family home. That’s right, they lifted the house to make sure the cellar (er...basement) had room for their barrel stacks. It’s a true bootstrap operation but one that has yielded incredible wines beloved by natural wine enthusiasts.
