Winestyr Review

From the Duvarita single vineyard in Sta. Rita Hills, the light and silky texture on the palate is juxtaposed by a deep, intriguing wine that is both bright and savory at once. The lead note is black cherry, followed by a hint of blueberry, forest floor, gunpowder, and a savory, almost spicy, herbal tea note. Very much old-world in style, this Pinot will take you straight to Burgundy, but with California ripeness of fruit. Make sure to serve at cellar temperature (pop it in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes).

Tatomer Wines

Graham Tatomer began working in the wine business at the age of 16 for Santa Barbara Winery. It soon grew into a passion and in 2003, he packed his bags and moved to Austria to get a better grip on the growing and making of Riesling. He was able to find work with Weingut Knoll who also turned him onto the Grüner Veltliner grape. What initially was planned to be a ten-week trip; turned into a year and two additional harvests in the Wachau. Graham left with abundant knowledge of old world winemaking with a focus on Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir). The wines are made with masterful precision and we're proud to have them in the Winestyr portfolio.
