Tendu may now be bottled under cork instead of crown cap but the wine is still as bright and drinkable as ever! There's real complexity here with a mixture of white pepper and mineral in the mid-palate, but it's the citrus forward fruit set that makes it so easy to imagine drinking this beauty outside over tapas.
Tendu is the second label from Jill and Steve Matthiasson who are better known for their pure, balanced wines from vineyards in Sonoma and Napa. Steve was awarded the SF Chronicle's "Winemaker of the Year" award and has been nominated for multiple James Beard awards for his work in wine. Their Tendu line represents some of the best values we've come across for honest, small-production wines. Lower alcohol, with great structure and balance, the Tendu line is reminiscent of the great table wines of France and Italy that are meant to be consumed in their youth. The word tendu refers to tension or poise and these wines are just that; racy and full of energy. We suggest you load up on these wines as they're perfect "house" styles.
