This is a big, bold, intense Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma Valley's elusive Knights Valley AVA. This wine spent 30 months in French oak and that spicy backbone provides some balance to the Cab that's big across the board. Pair with nicely marbled red meats or the sharpest of cheeses. This wine can be aged for at least another 10 years. 200 cases produced.
Thumbprint Cellars is one of the coolest places to visit in Sonoma County. Their tasting room is right on the square in downtown Healdsburg among some great restaurants and some other great tasting rooms. If you're there early in the day, make sure to grab a sandwich at Oakville Grocery (they're incredible). During the summer, Healdsburg also has music in the park on Tuesday nights so grab a few bottles from Thumbprint, some artisanal cheeses from Oakville Grocery, a blanket, and a couple of glasses - and go hang out and listen to some music. Definitely get there early if you want a good spot. If you're also in to beer (like we are), Bear Republic is a 2 block walk from Thumbprint which is a pretty stellar 1-2 punch.
