This is a full throttle mountain red blend from Sonoma's acclaimed Moon Mountain District AVA. A big, rich wine, you'll want to open this during the colder months and pair with a hearty meal. This wine is anything but restrained and the high alcohol content (15.4%) is well-masked by lush fruit, toasted oak, and layers of complexity. Not for the feint of heart. 32% Cabernet, 27% Petite Sirah, 18% Syrah, 9% Malbec, 9% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot. 528 cases produced.
Ty Caton returned to his hometown of Sonoma in 1997 determined to turn his family's 108 acre ranch, located in the prestigious Moon Mountain District AVA, into a prime vineyard. Today, 40 of the 108 acres are planted to wine grapes, and they produce about 10,000 cases of critically acclaimed wine per year. These special wines truly express the quality of the fruit grown on their land high in the Mayacamas Mountains.
