Winestyr Review

I love this wine because it's easy drinking and I wouldn't feel bad about opening a bottle of it any day or night of the week. If you run out of beer on gameday, this is the bottle of wine you reach for. If you're the type that likes to spontaneously entertain friends that drink way too much of your wine, this is a great one to keep on hand in bulk quantities. This wine is a great value as it's more complex than similar blends in the same price range, with nice fruit, oak and some peppery notes. A definite crowd pleaser that pairs well with a wide variety of foods, and drinks perfectly fine on its own.

What We Love

  • Great for everyday drinking
  • Smooth with good structure and some complexity
  • Great value

This is the perfect wine to stock up on and have around for everyday drinking - it beats your current favorite.

Experience

Victor Vineyards is a really cool place in Victor, California and the people behind it are very impressive. One of the team members was actually the creator of the Bonterra label of wines and joined the Victor Vineyards team because he believed in the concept and the wines. These wines are very reasonably priced and deliver a powerful punch of flavor and character. Don't let the price tag fool you, these wines are really great to drink.

Winery

Victor Vineyards is a really cool - and sort of rustic - place housed in the historic Victor Fruit Growers buildings established in the late 1800's in Victor, CA. They strive to evoke the best traditions of small town farmers who have been dedicated to quality for over a hundred years. The team behind the wines is a very impressive bunch who take the quality of their wines seriously. One of the team members was actually the creator of the Bonterra line of wines and joined Victor Vineyards because he believed in the concept and the wines. Don't let the price tags fool you, Victor's wines are extremely high quality and will likely become your new house wines.

Where are the ratings?

Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself. This is an everyday, very drinkable, "go to" wine. You will know you are having a nice glass of red, but you will not feel guilty that you spent too much for a wine of substance. Would I take it as a host gift to impress someone? No. Would I serve it to guests with a fall dinner? Absolutely!
