This is a powerful and complex mountain Cabernet from Napa Valley's Atlas Peak. 2011 is quickly becoming a favorite vintage of mine because the smaller-production wines possess a complexity and old-word charm that is often-times elusive for big Napa reds. This wine is especially complex with notes of black currant, mocha, and a beautiful hint of green herbs. This wine is wonderfully balanced and has a long, enduring finish.
Located on the eastern slope of Napa Valley at an elevation of 1600 feet, VinRoc's vineyards are above the fog line and experience sunny days and cool nights. VinRoc derives its name from the rock strewn mountain vineyard, where the elevation provides the perfect climate; and their rock hewn wine cave, where the consistent temperature & humidity is ideal for storing and aging wine. VinRoc's vines struggle through the volcanic rock & red soil, producing low yields of highly complex & intense fruit resulting in exceptional Napa Valley wines.
