A complex (in a good way) Zinfandel from the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County. This field blend includes Alicante, Palomino, and a couple other lesser-known grapes that give this wine an earthy rustic profile. A surprising amount of acid for a Zinfandel, this is actually a great food wine.
As the name suggests, Wine Guerrilla finds and procures some of the best Zinfandel grapes from each vintage and creates spectacular small-lot wines - saving the grapes from being blended into other mass-produced wines. Winemaker, Bruce Patch, sources grapes from small vineyards in Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Russian River Valley and Sonoma Valley. Many of the Guerrilla's wines have scored 90+ points and others have been produced from grapes grown on vines that are over 100 years old. This is a "must buy" for any Zinfandel fans out there. Pair your grilled meats with these wines and you will not be disappointed!More from this winery
Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself.
