Cool weather Syrah continues its rise to prominence and this is a great example of why. Sourced from Clary Ranch, Que Syrah, Baker Lane and Solas vineyards. A medley of fresh blue and black fruits make for an explosively aromatic glass of wine, filled with youthful tension. On the palate, dried savory herbs and an intense floral bouquet carry through a long, persistent finish. The wine undergoes whole cluster fermentation using indigenous yeasts. Only neutral barrels are used and the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Founded in 2011, Arnot-Roberts is one of California's premier producers of honest, natural, balanced wines with fruit sourced from some of the country's best vineyards. The winery focuses on single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, with small amounts of more esoteric varieties as well. The wines are pure expressions of the terroir from whence they came and an absolute joy to drink.
Arnot-Roberts was founded in 2001 in Healdsburg, California by childhood friends Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts. Duncan and Nathan grew up in the midst of vineyards and winemakers in the Napa Valley. Each took an interest in the wine industry, with Nathan following his father’s lead as a cooper, and Duncan pursuing winemaking in renowned wineries in Napa and Sonoma. The focus of this two person operation is on small lot, single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, as well as several other varieties uncommon in Northern Californian vineyards. Through good fortune and a keen eye, they have identified vineyard sources that are both singular and extraordinary. Collaboration with dedicated and passionate growers is paramount in the farming of these sites and vinification of their wines.More from this winery
Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself.
