Winestyr Review

Situated in the Santa Cruz Mountains just east of the Monterey Bay, Legan Vineyard promises to be one of the most exciting vineyards for Pinot Noir that Nathan Roberts and Duncan Arnot Meyers work with. Benefitting from cooling breezes coming off the bay, the site enjoys a long growing season and produces fruit at full phenolic maturity without being overripe. The result is a classic Arnot-Roberts expression that is delicious now (especially with 30 minutes of air) but will surely age for years to come. 94 pts Vinous

Arnot-Roberts

Arnot-Roberts was founded in 2001 in Healdsburg, California by childhood friends Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts. Duncan and Nathan grew up in the midst of vineyards and winemakers in the Napa Valley. Each took an interest in the wine industry, with Nathan following his father’s lead as a cooper, and Duncan pursuing winemaking in renowned wineries in Napa and Sonoma. The focus of this two person operation is on small lot, single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, as well as several other varieties uncommon in Northern Californian vineyards.

A delightful Pinot Noir that is extremely drinkable. It has a slight acidity tart to it that helps balance the wine and prevents it from going sweet. I enjoyed it on a sunny warm balcony day with a charcuterie platter and it did not disappoint.

REALLY tart for a pinot. It was okay, but not my favorite.
