The Bannister's have been making hand crafted, small lot wines in Sonoma County since 1989 with a particular focus on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Zinfandel. Growing up, Brook was involved in harvest and critical points in the process when he wasn’t busy in school. Today it is Brook Bannister pushing the estate forward with continued investment in Sonoma's best sites and wines that communicate a clear place of origin.
For Bannister, using exceptional fruit from ideally suited locations is the genesis of low intervention winemaking – guiding what the season and the grower have provided into finished wine. Bannister strives to make wines that are full flavored, yet balanced in alcohol and tannin. When we first tasted the wines, we were immediately struck by their lavish personalities. Such is possible only through sustainable agriculture, terrific site sourcing, and deft hands in the cellar.
