This is, quite possibly, the best Zinfandel you can find under $20/bottle. Ample ripe fruit, medium to full bodied, and with plenty of nuance and complexity, this is a great wine to load up on and have around for anytime you feel like firing up the grill or staying up a little too late. Gary Branham let me know that much of this fruit for this wine comes from his vineyard in the Rockpile AVA, but he didn't want to put Rockpile on the label because it would anger his Rockpile neighbors by being the lowest price wine. This wine is fun to drink and I envision myself enjoying it with friends during a weekend getaway to a summer house.
