Wow - this is a great red blend from Desert Wind in Washington. This is a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, which are the traditional grapes for a Bordeaux-style blend. Lots of good fruit but deep tannins as well - good stuff.
Desert Wind's beautiful winery is perched on a bluff overlooking the Yakima River. Their two estate vineyards lie at the foot of the Saddle Mountains in Eastern Washington's Columbia Valley region known for its fierce summer conditions. Desert Wind's wines are handcrafted using small lots of fruit and extended barrel aging to create unique flavors. These wines are some of best values we've come across.More from this winery
Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself.
