Similar to the 2012 that we offered, Domaine de la Côte's 2013 appellation specific Pinot Noir is a blend of their maritime vineyards on the western edge of the Sta. Rita Hills in Santa Barbara County. Aged in 10% new French oak barrels, the wine shows off the warm vintage that was, with ripe fruit sets and a long, fleshy finish.
Domaine de la Côte translates literally to Estate of the Slope. The Domaine is a collection of vineyards planted over 60 acres of a south-facing slope at the western edge of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation. Memorious, Bloom’s Field, Siren’s Call, Clos Juliet, and La Côte are the names of their vineyards. Rising to an elevation of 700 feet above the Santa Ynez River, the Domaine sits atop a 25 million year old seabed, 7 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The vineyards, planted entirely to California heritage selections, was organically farmed from 2007 through 2016 and in 2017, DDLC underwent the transition to being fully Biodynamic. We're proud to offer their wines to you via Winestyr.
