This is a bright, creamy, and complex Chardonnay from the Haynes vineyard in Napa Valley's Coombsville AVA. Bursting with delectable flavors of lemon curd, fresh brioche, wet river stone, and a hint of tropical fruit, this is a killer Chardonnay that is powerful and layered, but also elegant and balanced. This is another great example of a wine that will turn haters back onto this wonderful grape variety. A terrific effort from acclaimed winemaker John Lockwood. Fermented with native yeast. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. 100 cases produced.
Lockwood’s journey took him from a guitar repair shop to a relatively remote vineyard in eastern Napa before he landed with Ehren Jordan at the venerable Failla Wines. It was through his work there, managing crucial vineyard relationships throughout Northern California, that he decided to start Enfield Wine Co. as a small side project. By 2013, he was ready to commit full-time to the brand and we’re all luckier for it. His wines are consistently praised by critics, sommeliers, and enthusiasts alike for being incredibly fresh yet not lacking any seriousness whatsoever. In the end, Enfield showcases wines capable of drinking today, tomorrow, and for many years to come.
