750 ML / 13.2% ABV
This Viognier from the northern part of Washington's Columbia Valley AVA is as refreshing as it is balanced. Fermented in a combination of concrete egg, Acacia puncheon, stainless steel, and older French oak barrels, the wine has some interesting layers of complexity. The lead notes are honey melon and white flowers, followed by a very satisfying dose of crushed river rock and a hint of salinity. This is a serious white wine from star-in-the-making natural winemaker Jesse Skiles. 100% Viognier. 400 cases produced.
Born and raised amongst the uncanny bounty of the wilds of the Pacific Northwest, Jesse Skiles found himself with little choice but to explore and create with what life there provides. Although Jesse is a cook by heart and trade, a series of events in 2008 led him, almost by accident, to switch to crafting wines. From the beginning, Jesse’s wines have been driven by locale, climate, and cuisine, while also rooted in the traditions of the historic homeland of his profession, the Rhone Valley.
