After a little bit of air, this Pinot Noir really opened up and showed deep and concentrated flavors of blackberry, cherry, and strawberry with a nice backbone of spice and minerality. This Pinot Noir had great acid on the finish and well-integrated tannins - a really nice wine to drink outside or inside on a night when the weather calls for a sweater.
The best part about the wine business, aside from the incredible wines themselves, is meeting all of the amazing people behind the wines. Jim and Diane farm their 17-acre vineyard on Cobb Mountain near Clear Lake, fulfilling the dream that started after Jim’s shipyard was closed down in the mid-1990s. This family operation has captured the hearts of Winestyr members vintage after vintage and if you have the chance, you should absolutely visit their new tasting room in Kelseyville.
