It isn't shocking that yet another of Brooks Friedeman's Sonoma Coast appellation wines seriously over delivers for the price. This is yet another example that his approach pays proper homage to the richness of old California while preserving the freshness and minerality of the New Wave.
Friedeman Wines is a micro-producer of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. We are immensely proud to be the exclusive outlet to secure his wines.
Originally from the Chicago area themselves, the Friedemans' story behind their foray into winemaking epitomizes those we had in mind when we started Winestyr. Their first production, only 200 cases a handful of years ago, took place more or less out of a garage, and was so well received that it sold out to local residents before it could even be introduced to the outside public. They've since produced several more vintages, each a slightly larger production than the last (though still very small productions), and have continued to grow their craft business organically. This is the winery you want to hear about on a trip to wine country - the one only the locals know about and love because of its great product and fantastic people.More from this winery
Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself. Salty, flavorful, full
Great chard. Gave it to Mom and kept one for me. It doesn't have a strong chardonnay taste and pairs well with dinner.
not as crisp
