Ground Effect is a collaboration of owner John Kochis, a 24 year veteran of the wine industry and select growers & winemakers throughout the Central Coast. The goal has always been to provide wines that over deliver for the price point with a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon and a newly released Pinot Noir.
California's Central Coast may not be a hotbed for Cabernet Sauvignon but as you travel inland and away from the Sta. Rita Hills, the climate becomes warmer and warmer. That, of course, helps Cabernet ripen fully while still maintaining freshness in the wine. Ripe black berry and cassis with a touch of new oak spice finishes with dark chocolate and dried savory herbs.
