This is a wonderful cool weather Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley AVA in Sonoma County. Jim Ball has gained a cult following for his tremendous Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. His fans will not be disappointed as this wine follows in the same mold with its focused flavors and dark character. Almost brooding, this wine is well-integrated brew of earth, forest floor, and complex fruit flavors. Aged in 100% French oak barrels, 20% new. 100% Pinot Noir.
Proprietor, Jim Ball, fell in love with Northern California, its juxtaposition of rugged Pacific Coast and orderly vineyard rows. So a search began for the Holy Grail - that sweet spot where Pinot noir could be taken to exalted levels. Jim found it in the mountain top vineyards of Boonville. Jim Ball's Pinots are a prime example of earthy, robust, sexy Pinot Noir - the kind you open with a few close friends by the fire pit or on a quiet night when the cool winds bear a hint of the winter to come. These award-winning cult wines consist exclusively of Estate Fruit.
