This is a very interesting wine - the blend includes Viognier and Semillion and gets some time in oak barrels, so this has a different profile than most Cali Sauv Blancs. Definitely less grassiness in favor of more fruit...but with a fuller body and finish. 303 cases produced.
In 1982 the Joullian and Sias families purchased 655 acres of hillside benchland in the heart of the remote Carmel Valley and started their vineyard. The families had the goal of producing estate-crafted wines with the complexity, finesse, and ageability of the world's finest wines. Completed in the spring of 1991, the winery was designed to handle each vineyard block separately to insure that the complex subtleties produced in the field could be transferred into the bottle.
