The Limerick Lane 2019 Russian River Valley Zinfandel is a firecracker of an introduction to this legendary producer in Sonoma. Intensely perfumed and striking right off the bat, this is not a cloying or syrupy Zinfandel whatsoever. There's real elegance here which is somewhat surprising, since the wine lacks nothing in the power department. Enjoy this now and over the next five to seven years.
You can count on one hand the number of iconic wineries celebrated for Zinfandel and that list will always include Limerick Lane. Tucked into the northern edges of the Russian River Valley, where this historic appellation focuses less on Pinot Noir or Chardonnay and more on Rhône varietals and Zinfandel, this is the definition of a cult classic. Limerick Lane began as a grape supplier and, in 1985, the winery was founded to represent its own vines in bottle.
