This Zinfandel-based blend is your go to weeknight wine for pizza, burgers, or just chilling on the couch. Medium-bodied on the palate with a soft, velvety mouthfeel, this crowd-pleasing red opens with bright plum fruit and evolves into a dark, focused profile with briar patch and black tea. The ripe fruit is nicely framed by a hint of sweet oak. Chris started the winery as a negociant, purchasing high quality grapes and pioneering one of California's most traditional and category defining blends: Old Vine Red. With Chris' son Scot owning, managing, and making wine for the winery, Marietta Cellars' second generation is taking it to new heights. In 2007, Scot joined the winery full-time after graduating from UC Davis with a degree in Viticulture and Enology. He assumed the role of winemaker in 2012.
