Winestyr Review

This is a ridiculously quaffable and enjoyable natural red table wine made in the "glou glou"style (French for glug glug). This wine is light and fruity, with a delicious and balanced zing of acidity. Made from 55% Zinfandel from organic, dry farmed vines that were planted in the 1960s in California's Contra Costa County AVA and 45% Carignan from organic, dry farmed vines planted in 1948 in the Redwood Valley AVA, this wine has a ton of character for how approachable it is. It'll be hard not to open that second bottle as this wine is so enjoyable and represents the very tip of the spear when it comes to domestic natural wines. 720 cases produced.

Martha Stoumen Wines

After studying agricultural systems and Italian in college, Martha ventured across the pond to Italy where she spent much of her time in vineyards. From there, it was only a matter of time until her agrarian itch was scratched as much by viticulture as olive orchards and bee farms. She apprenticed across the world, including stops with the likes of Chris Brockway and Giusto Occhipinti. These mentors helped shape her approach but in the end, Martha has carved out her own path crafting natural wines of immense pleasure and provenance.
