The Martin Ray 2018 Coast Grade Vineyard Pinot Noir is one of the winery's most limited bottlings and is rarely available outside of California. Coast Grade sits on the edge of the Santa Cruz Mountains overlooking the Pacific Ocean and, when combined with Leslie Renaud and Raemy Paterson's light touch in winemaking, can produce ethereal, mineral wines of class and delicacy. Pair this wine with chicken tinga tacos or a earthy mushroom puff pastry.
For nearly 30 years, Martin Ray was making site specific wines in the Santa Cruz Mountains and, with the venerable Paul Masson as his mentor, pushing the limits of what early viticulture could achieve in California. Decades later, thanks to a true industry miracle, Courtney Benham discovered an old tranche of Martin's wines and decided to celebrate and revive the brand in the modern era. Today, Leslie Mead Renaud and Raemy Paterson drive the winemaking.
