A great value Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington. This wine has the tannic depth to stand up to a lot of foods, but is also balanced enough to be drinkable on its own. Not as over-the-top as some Cali Cabs, but if you like those, give this one a try. Columbia Valley, Washington.
With wines named Cougar, Penetration, and Tease, Oregon's Naked Winery brings a refreshing approach to the often stuffy wine industry. The grapes for their red varietals (Syrah, Cabernet, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Merlot) are orgasmically grown in the hot and dry Apple Gate and Columbia Valley regions of Oregon and Washington respectively. Their other varietals (Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Muscat and Riesling) benefit from the cool pacific marine layers of the Willamette and Illinois Valleys to produce subtle and complex wines. Don't let the fun and provocative nature of these wines fool you, inside the bottle, you will find premium Oregon and Washington juice.More from this winery
Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself.
