A restrained Pinot Noir from Old Shore Vineyards in Michigan. This Pinot is definitely more in the classic Burgundy / Oregon style, so this is not a super big wine that has a ton of fruit. Instead, this has balanced acid and fruit with a long finish. Drink with food for sure - great pairing wine.
We know what you're thinking - wines from Michigan can't compete with wines from the West Coast. Well, Old Shore Vineyards is about to prove you wrong. Winemaker, Cornel Olivier, was born and raised amongst vineyards in South Africa and has decades of experience in the wine industry. Between five estate vineyards, Old Shore crafts stunning Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, without the California price tag. If you live in Chicago, we strongly encourage you to support this Midwest winery - you won't regret it. Cheers!More from this winery
Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself.
