Osso Anna Chardonnay has become a perennial favorite of Winestyr members due to its incredible value when it comes to drinkable, Napa Valley Chardonnay with some butter and oak. This vintage is more of the same - bright Napa Valley fruit with a backbone of toasted oak and spice. Good acid rounds out a wine that represents one of the best values we've found in Napa Valley Chardonnay.
Osso Anna is a label created by the folks behind Napa's esteemed Buoncristiani Family Winery. Jay Buoncristiani, winemaker of the critically acclaimed wines that bear his name, makes the Osso Anna wines with fruit from Napa Valley. The wines are made to be consumed at family get togethers and parties. They represent superb value and are great house wines to have around for any occasion.
Osso Anna is a project that arose out of a critically-acclaimed Napa winemaker's need for great Napa Valley wines he could drink every day as well as serve to friends and family at parties and get togethers. Jay Buoncristiani (of Buoncristiani Family Winery fame) couldn't find wines that fit the high quality and low price point he was looking for decided to take matters into his own hands and that's where Osso Anna found its genesis.More from this winery
Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself. Aromas of tart pineapple, candied lemon, pear, brioche, buttered bread, butterscotch, and elderflower. Tart acidity, greek yogurt, and honey. The palate reminds me more of a Pinot Gris than a Chardonnay. More mature flavors than freshness.
Resembled a fuller bodied sauv blanc, was missing that bit of oak that the description mentioned
