Situated just below the Chalk Hill Gap in Calistoga, which welcomes the cool fog into Napa's hottest sub-region, the Perliss Estate vineyard is as beautiful as it is unique. The vines are planted along a steep, west-facing hill to soak up the afternoon sun but also too catch cooling breezes coming down from the Mayacamas hills. These factors convinced Pott to put aside his normal skepticism of Calistoga and work with the grapes.
