Winestyr Review

This is a very nice Alexander Valley Syrah from Reynoso Family Vineyards. A beautiful nose hints at the wine to come. Lush fruit flavors meld together with spice and oak to make this a great, traditional warm weather Syrah. This wine would best be paired with meats off the grill or other hearty dishes. Aged for 24 months in French Oak. 98% Syrah, 2% Viognier. 200 cases produced.

What We Love

  • Big fruit flavors and a good amount of spice and oak
  • Estate grown

This is an excellent Syrah that would be equally at home as a gift or at the dinner table with a hearty meal.

Experience

Using truly exceptional fruit, from vines lovingly and meticulously cared for, Reyoso Family Winery is delighted to see how outstanding wines from their estate can be. With minimal intervention between, their wines allow the best expression of their crew’s hard work and the spectacular piece of Alexander Valley they’ve been blessed to nurture.

Winery

Reynoso Family Vineyards proprietors, Joe and Elena Reynoso, are committed to producing small lots of estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc. The remote 550 acre estate was originally purchased in 1994, and since then their grapes have been sold to some of Sonoma's top wine producers. Reynoso Family Vineyards currently farms 155 of the 550 acres, keeping only a tiny percentage of the finest grapes on the estate for their own wines. Ultimately, their goal is to craft fruit-driven wines that display distinctive varietal character and intensity without sacrificing elegance and their own element of terroir. Joe Reynoso would also enjoy seeing the Chicago Cubs win the world series in his lifetime.

Where are the ratings?

Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself.
