Mikey Giugni and Michael Brughelli met during their final year at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, just up Highway 101 from the vineyards of Edna Valley and Santa Maria Valley. Their friendship continued through their early winemaking endeavors and once Mikey returned from Tasmania, it was time to set out on their own. Early on in 2020, Mikey took over the brand in its entirety and continues to push the boundaries of the intersection between natural wine and Central Coast varieties.
Scar of the Sea is a boutique winery crafted site and appellation specific wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah, as well as a small amount of thrilling hard cider. Their wines are renowned for their freshness, clarity, and mouth watering expressions of Santa Barbara County.
