This is a great wine from California's Amador County. More old world in style, this wine is dry, easy-drinking, and never overly jammy. Balanced with nice acid, this is a very, very food friendly wine and could be paired with a variety of dishes, but I'd suggest going with a lighter Italian dish (think Tuscan fare). 100% Barbera.
Scott Harvey is one of Amador County's pioneers and has been producing incredibly drinkable expressions of Barbera, Syrah, and Zinfandel under his label Scott Harvey Wines. Before that, he was a partner, winemaker, and president of Napa's Folie A Deux winery where he created the Menage a Trois line of wines. Scott splits his time between his home and vineyard in Napa Valley and Amador County where he works with some of the oldest growers. These are wines that go perfectly with a variety of foods - specifically grilled meats.
