With the Rosé trend have come many, many expressions of Rosé that, frankly, just aren't very good. Rosé is at its best when it's light, crisp, dry, and floral and this Rosé from Rheingau, Germany is exactly that. The light Salmon color and relatively low alcohol hint at the old world-style juice that's in the bottle. On the palate, the wine is dry, with a refreshing zing of acidity, and a clean finish - perfect for enjoying outdoors. 200 cases produced.
"Wine is our life, we are honored to now jump into the creative process of producing wines after decades of learning and selling wine for others. It is our hope that you invest in our story, fall in love with the wines and help us spread the joy of Smith Story Wine Cellars, we are humbled by this opportunity to follow our passion. Drink what you love, love what you drink. This is Our Story." - Eric and Ali
Smith Story wines begin with the land, places that are special to Eric and Ali throughout California and Europe. Their belief is to respect what the land offers, while ultimately delivering beautiful expressions of each varietal to supporters of Smith Story Wine Cellars. As such, Smith Story Wines are made with respect for the land, kindness for the grower and, love from the winemaker. The wines show restraint, balance, and integrity of the grape. The wines are made with classic, old world techniques which let the fruit and terroir speak for themselves.More from this winery
Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself.
