Through Sutro Wine Co., Alice Warnecke Sutro and Eliot Sutro sought to celebrate the land where Alice grew up and where they now raise their children, Warnecke Ranch. It’s always exciting to watch new generations take a family’s historic business or property and bring it into a new era. Whereas the estate’s fruit was long sold to other producers, Alice clearly shows why estate produced wines have always and will always say something unique.
Producing limited quantities of hyper terroir-specific wines, Sutro shows off the ranch's pure Sonoma Volcanic bedrock at the foot of Chalk Hill. The site benefits from an ideal combination of peak summer warmth and cooling coastal fog, resulting in wines of intensity and freshness in both flavor and texture. There are two other wines that showcase the estate aside from the Cabernet Sauvignon: Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc. All have an undeniable intensity that keeps wine drinkers coming back for more.
