This Vermentino-driven white blend is rounded out with French Colombard and Chardonnay. This wine is racy, tart, and refreshing with mouthwatering (and thirst quenching) acidity. Bright, fresh, and dry, this wine is meant to be enjoyed in its youth and would be a delight on a warm day served with lighter fare or enjoyed on its own. I'd recommend putting a bottle of the Tendu white in the cooler and bring it to the tailgate, beach, or pool. This wine is a great value from a great winemaker and made with fruit sourced from some great vineyards in California. 2,200 cases.
Tendu is the second label from Jill and Steve Matthiasson who are better known for their pure, balanced wines from vineyards in Sonoma and Napa. Steve was awarded the SF Chronicle's "Winemaker of the Year" award and has been nominated for multiple James Beard awards for his work in wine. Their Tendu line represents some of the best values we've come across for honest, small-production wines. Lower alcohol, with great structure and balance, the Tendu line is reminiscent of the great table wines of France and Italy that are meant to be consumed in their youth. The word tendu refers to tension or poise and these wines are just that; racy and full of energy. We suggest you load up on these wines as they're perfect "house" styles.
