Varietal Chardonnay

Vintage 2017

Winestyr Review

This skin-fermented Chardonnay (orange wine) from former-sommelier, Matt Ahern, is an extremely unique and enjoyable expression of Chardonnay from Sonoma County. Crisp, rich, and fruit forward with notes pineapple, honey, and green apple, this wine has a unique texture due to the fact that tannins are subtly present which is very rare for a Chardonnay (and due to the skin contact this wine saw during fermentation). Native yeast fermentation in concrete - on skins for 90 days. Only 200 cases produced.

The Wonderland Project

The Wonderland Project was founded by former-Sommelier Matt Ahern after spending years selling wine to elite restaurants and helping turn Scribe Winery into one of the most sought after estates in the country. Through his experience, he became aware of a common missing component on wine lists: a high quality wine made from high quality fruit, with enough refinement for the most discerning palette at an accessible cost. When he couldn't find the wine described, he decided to make it himself.

Unique expression of Chardonnay, but still maintains taste quality expected from a good Chardonnay.

Wonderful wine!

Crisp and light, tasted like a chardonnay without the buttery after-taste. Brought to Thanksgiving dinner this year & it was enjoyed by all!

this was good, but still a little too oaky.
