Sangiovese is an Italian varietal (used in Chianti), but this wine from Toccata shows that the grape can succeed in Southern California. This wine has great earth and fruit, and is definitely one to try if you're bored of the typical Pinot & Cabernet options. Would be great with a robust pasta dish.
Known for versatile wines, fair prices, and a fun and relaxed wine tasting experience, Toccata features estate grown Italian varietals. Originally planted from cuttings brought over from Italy’s legendary vineyards, Toccata's grapes thrive in the Los Alamos Valley, where warm summer days and cool coastal nights provide the perfect growing environment. These wines provide an excellent alternative to traditional American varietals without breaking the bank. Toccata means, "a musical composition for a keyboard instrument designed to exhibit the performer's touch and technique" and this reflects the artistic expression of the wine in each bottle.More from this winery
Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself.
