Varietal Pinot Noir

Vintage 2013

Winestyr Review

This is a medium-bodied Pinot Noir that's a little rough around the edges in a good way. Noticeable tannins and some delicious cedar and spicebox flavors (thanks to the 10 months in French oak) make this wine really great to drink when it's a little chillier out - or with pasta or pizza. Another great value from Victor Vineyards.

Victor Vineyards

Victor Vineyards is a really cool - and sort of rustic - place housed in the historic Victor Fruit Growers buildings established in the late 1800's in Victor, CA. They strive to evoke the best traditions of small town farmers who have been dedicated to quality for over a hundred years. The team behind the wines is a very impressive bunch who take the quality of their wines seriously. One of the team members was actually the creator of the Bonterra line of wines and joined Victor Vineyards because he believed in the concept and the wines. These wines are very reasonably priced and deliver a powerful punch of flavor and character. Don't let the price tags fool you, Victor's wines are extremely high quality and will likely become your new house wines.

This wine is a great wine for the price. Pinots are generally among my favorite wines. This is a bolder Pinot Noir than most, so it will hold up to some heartier fare than most usual parings; however, it will work really well with classic parings too. I purchased a few bottles, but I'm reordering before its gone. This is a great wine to have on hand.
