Winestyr Review

Planted at the southwest corner of the Alexander Valley and just above the Russian River, this Chardonnay vineyard enjoys perfectly balanced growing conditions: warm, sunbathing days and cool evenings. The wine spends 10 months in 25% new French oak, giving it a round and creamy texture to compliment notes of ripe apricot and toasty oak spice.

What We Love

  • Bold style of Chardonnay
  • Classic California expression

This is a Chardonnay for lovers of that bold, classic California style

Experience

The Bannister's have been making hand crafted, small lot wines in Sonoma County since 1989 with particular focus on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Zinfandel. Today it is Brook Bannister pushing the estate forward with continued investment in Sonoma's best sites and wines that communicate a clear place of origin.

When I first tasted the wines, I was immediately struck by their lavish personalities. Such is possible only through sustainable agriculture, terrified site sourcing, and deft hands in the cellar.

Where are the ratings?

Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself. Need some specific recommendations? Chat us in the lower right box or send our lead curator an email at bob@winestyr.com.
