Winestyr Review

Planted at the southwest corner of the Alexander Valley and just above the Russian River, this Chardonnay vineyard enjoys perfectly balanced growing conditions: warm, sunbathing days and cool evenings. The wine spends 10 months in 25% new French oak, giving it a round and creamy texture to compliment notes of ripe apricot and toasty oak spice.

Bannister Wines

The Bannister's have been making hand crafted, small lot wines in Sonoma County since 1989 with a particular focus on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Zinfandel. Growing up, Brook was involved in harvest and critical points in the process when he wasn’t busy in school. Today it is Brook Bannister pushing the estate forward with continued investment in Sonoma's best sites and wines that communicate a clear place of origin.

When I saw that the alcohol percent was over 14%, I expected not to like this chardonnay but was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Though the summary states it is bold, it was not overly bold for my tastes -- and I tend not to enjoy bold chardonnays, particularly hot wines.
